Our Team

Direct Line Communications, Inc. posesses some of the most highly skilled and dedicated staff members in the industry—at all levels. On the front line, our crew is always professional, experienced and trained in the specialized tasks they must carry out. Field supervisors report on the deployment of their crews on a daily basis, including daily materials reporting and crew production metrics. Quality control is always at the forefront, and on-site inspection by management to verify and ensure quality is an important part of our process.

On the management side, our team has decades of experience working with large-scale projects from initial strategy to implementation and maintenance, including working with projects involving buried, aerial, underground, and copper/fiber splicing tasks.


Meet our management team

William Pemberton


Direct Line Communications, Inc. is built on the stability and knowledge that Bill brings to the table. As a CPA, he is able to ensure that our company is always on sound financial footing. Bill has been hands-on involved with all Fiber to the premise projects in Fort Wayne, Myrtle Beach, and Tampa. He received his MSBA in 1984 and MBA in 1989 from Indiana University. He has 20+ years of construction experience between power and telecommunications.



John Davis

Sr. Vice President.

John has 24 years of experience in all aspects of outside plant telecommunications construction. He has managed several contracts including Buried Drops and single source provider Construction throughout the Midwest. His responsibilities include procurement, acquisition, management and maintenance of all of DLCI’s fleet and construction equipment resources.



Bob White

Vice President of Operations.

Bob has more than 29 years of business experience, and was part of the original NFS start-up team in 1986. With an MBA from Indiana Institute of Technology and more than 7 years overseas experience in International Business, Bob has been a key manager for DLCI. He has overseen many multi-million dollar projects including; Buried Drop Programs in Indiana and Florida, Copper and Fiber Distribution projects in Indiana, and Fiber Splicing and Construction in Florida. Bob began his career in the Industry with Henkels &McCoy, working as a Divisional Equipment Manager, Divisional Administrative Manager, Contract Estimator, and Project Manager.



John Osborne

Director of Operations, Midwest.

Coming to DLCI from a successful career at Verizon and predecessor companies, John has over 34 years of experience in all facets of the business. While Engineering Manager at Verizon he was responsible for CO/OSP Support, Contract Administration, and Joint Use Administration for 13 states. He controlled a $20 million expense budget as well as a large capital budget. John has been involved with the coordination and construction of multiple large projects. He received his business management degree from IUSB.   



Kent Bertsch

Controller & Secretary/Treasurer.

Kent has 15 years of accounting experience in the
telecommunication construction industry. He received his BS degree in management in 1984 from Oklahoma Christian College and Accounting degree in 1995 from Indiana University.
